Chocolate Chip Cookies

Preparation time, 20 mins. Cooking time, 15 mins.

Ingredients Yields 2 dozen

  • 125 grams butter
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 3 tablespoons sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 1/2 cups plain flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 3 tablespoons chocolate chips


Preheat the oven to 180C.
Cream the butter and sugar together. Stir in the condensed milk.
Add the flour, baking powder and chocolate chips. Stir to combine.

Roll the dough into small (walnut sized) balls and flatten slightly onto a baking tray. Bake for 10 - 15 minutes. Leave to cool on the tray for 5 minutes before transferring to a cooling rack.

Also works well to add dried apricots or nuts. Alternately, leave the dough plain, make an indent in the center of each cookie and fill the middle with a dollop of jam.
